FLIGHT-LINE Extension and New Drone Hangars
location: undisclosed
This project features a new permanent flightline and parking ramp and aviation hangar designed to support SOCOM airfield operations. Originally based on a modular drone shelter platform, the structure was adapted to provide a flexible hangar solution for aircraft support environments. Additional ramp space was added and covered with a temporary hangar to increase capability until future systems could come online.
The project required coordination with and the expansion of the existing utilities and utility suppliers both military and private. The design, engineering, purchase order and contracting process took less than six months. We were able to complete the construction from start of utilities to occupancy in six months!
Key Features
115’ wide, high-cycle, insulated steel Hangar Door Assembly with high wind-load resistance
Insulated Metal Panel Walls
Industrial anti-slip Floor Shield–coating over penetrating epoxy concrete primer
FAA-compliant steady-burning red obstruction lighting with NVG compatibility
High-output LED exterior floodlighting for low-light operations
The facility also integrates lightning protection, structural grounding, and distributed electrical infrastructure including switchboards, transformers, and panelboards, along with fire protection components and access control hardware assemblies.
Originally designed for:
rapid installation and operational flexibility, this hangar now supports permanent aviation staging, airfield operations, unmanned aircraft missions, and aircraft protection on this installation.
